Either Sybil got this one wrong or the potential she noted in her review has been realized. The Blue Paddle Bistro is a gem. Think cozy vacation eatery, favored by the locals for fine food and boating decor. The clam chowder was ALL clams. The grilled marinated shrimp, served on a bed of greens with artichoke hearts, goat cheese and a balsamic vinagrette, hit the spot. The chicken and pasta dish was served with a maple garlic cream sauce that memories are made of. The hostess and waitresses are welcoming and attentive and the prices within reason. Put this one on your must dine list. Reservations are recommended.

Very enjoyable experience. My boyfriend and I did not have reservations and they were pretty booked so they sat us upstairs in an empty dining room. Score for us! We had to do our people watching looking at the parking lot from our window, but, once again, score. I ordered Salmon and my boyfriend had duck. We both really enjoyed the food. The bread the waitress brought was not the bread they usually use and didn't look appetizing so I didn't try it. Both the waitress and one of the owners made sure we were comfortable with the temperature and generally enjoying ourselves. I had a really good time and the customer service was great.

I read the reviews before going and was afraid I'd be disappointed. However, I have to say that this is by far one of the best places I've been to. The staff was incredibly friendly and approachable and the restaurant itself was relaxing and felt like home (because it is a home). I have to disagree with those who said the food was average and the portion size small for the price. The food was outstanding and the menu was diverse. The food portion was perfect and what I'm accustom to from major metros and 5 star restaurants. I enjoyed the fact that the owner herself was there and made it a point to engage and converse with everyone there. I highly recommend that if you haven't tried this place yet, do so.

This place is a gem! Friendly with great service... Nice atmosphere and the food was perfect!! Cooked to perfection! And this comes from a pair of snobs.... We expect value for our dollar ... And this place definitely delivers on all fronts! So start "paddling" your way there! It's worth it!!!!

What a great place to have so close to home. One of my favorite places to eat and I can do so without driving into Burlington. And, it's clearly worth the trip to so many folks who are driving 30 minutes or more to sample Phoebe's delicious items. Great for dinner and a wonderful Sunday brunch. Special events are always fun and well organized by Mandy. This place is a regular favorite of mine and every friend I have mentioned it to has had a great experience. The menu is full of interesting items. The service is always efficient and friendly. There are plenty of regulars, which is one more piece of evidence that this is a well liked establishment.

I would definitely describe this place as lovely! We went for the Sunday brunch, and everyone there was very sweet and nice. I got the brie and strawberry stuffed french toast and it was awesome! My boyfriend got the omelet with salmon and goat cheese and peppers, and he thought it was very good. We will definitely be going back for the food and atmosphere!

Up a creek with no paddles!! Sorry guys but just didn't happen!! First visit to this restaurant... Called to make reservation..Mandy very friendly.. Said (she was looking forward to meeting us) ok So far so good...well we arrived at 5:00 pm And we were brought to our table on the second floor and we were sat in a corner table..I asked if we could sit at a table so that were facing each other but we were told they were reserved...ok Our waiter promptly came and ask if we wanted a drink And we asked if we could have a moment to look at wine list... He returned in like two seconds so we just went for it... Well over the next half hour we were faced with the whole staff in the place trying to figure out how they were going to sit an eight top on the table next to us...it was unbelievable.. We actually offered to move but they said we were ok.., So...we then order the spring rolls and a salad which both Came within 5 min and then asked what we decided on ordering Well at this point we felt they just wanted us out as soon as possible.. Never have felt more rushed out of a restaurant as we were tonight... Well anyway... Poor service...food ok( my husband had rib eye and I had chicken pasta dish) nothing special...we got there at 5:00 and we were out of there at 5:40....unreal..all for 112.00$$$...half hour later back in colchester at our favorite bar only o hear "horror stories" about the place.. Hear when Tom Mesner walks through the door it's "all hands on deck" Guess they should have realized my husband has been in the media three times as long as Tom .....anyway.. No fixing this mess... I know I'm just one person with a bad experience but won't be making that trip again ....... Judy Colchester, Vermont Sorry need to add to this after reading other reviews...frantic staff... Kinda dirty...heard a dog...need I say more!!!

Went out for a birthday dinner, first time ever, and loved it. The staff was very friendly and we even got a couple of laughs in. The food was beyond good. We all had to taste each others plates to get the depth of how amazing the food was. No one got anything that was less than amazing. Overall I will return and can't wait

This place was OK, I think they are a little overrated, I heard such good reviews from friends and ended up being a bit disappointed. We went for restaurant week so there was a fixed menu, which was fine with me. I started out with the mussels, which were really delicious. The broth was amazing, I'm still trying to figure out what was in it. It seemed so simple yet complex tasting. For my entree, I had the macadamia nut encrusted chicken with risotto. A very large portion of chicken! I couldn't finish it all. The chicken was a bit overcooked, it looked as it it had gotten a little burned in the pan. The risotto was very good. The staff was almost too attentive at times, making a romantic dinner a little difficult. Not that I don't like the server not to be attentive, but we had multiple servers come up almost every 5 min, and I think the owner asked us how our meal was at least twice. The atmosphere was not too great. We were seated on the bottom floor and it seemed as if the patrons were packed in pretty tight. I could hear every word the table in back of me was saying even though they were speaking in soft voices. Overall the experience was OK, nothing to rave about to others, though.

I am always happy to go to the Blue Paddle. The BEST part is the cranberry risotto. I occasionally have dreams about how good this risotto is. I've had a few dishes that were less than spectacular (dry-ish chicken or burned fish), but overall I would never say no to dinner here. The specials are usually great, and my duck confit was excellent the last time I went in. The bartender makes good cocktails, and the staff is almost always friendly and personable. Random comment - the candles they have in the bathrooms smell AWESOME.

Went back with guests from out of town on a recent, busy Sat night, and had a lovely, delicious and well served meal. Glad to have a really good experience to report on a return visit.

The Blue Paddle Bistro is a seasonal restaurant that typically opens in June. Unfortunately, I can only give a review of their brunch service as I have not had the opportunity their dinner offerings. As the name implies, the restaurant is tastefully decorated with a paddle/marine motif. The restaurant has a very homely feel and the service is excellent. One of the owners, Mandy, is almost always present during Sunday brunch and she would most likely stop by your table to check if you have enjoyed the food your ordered. Your dining experience starts as soon as you enter the door. There is a self-service coffee bar (Green Mountain Coffee) as you enter the door. The smell of coffee, the sound of food being cooked, and the clanking of silverware should start getting your mouth to water. As for the food, the ingredients used are always fresh. One of the best dishes they serve is the Lobster Eggs Benedict. You better order them quickly when they are on the menu as they are usually the first to go. There is also the Irish corned beef, which are perfectly cooked and seasoned. I also recommend the crab cakes. Fresh fish, chicken, and pork are also on the menu so if you don't like lobster, crab, or corned beef, you need not worry.

Blue Paddle is a very nice little getaway restaurant. Superb and friendly service. It gets a little wobbly when it's busy but is consistently on point on normal business. The food is excellent and the wines are well picked. If you're just in for a quick drink and food, I recommend the nachos.

Great service, very friendly staff but the food was nothing to write home about. For a 28$ special my wife got the seabass and it had canned corn. In August. Canned corn in August. Come on, if I'm going to pay that much I expect fresh seasonal ingredient. I had the crab ravioli and the crab cake on top was great but the Sauce tasted like uncooked cream. Not much flavor at all. Overall, try it if you want, but I won't go back.

Great food and great service. Filet minion with Gorgonzola. Ravioli with crab cake. Appetizers - veggie egg roll. Everything was very delicious. Beer and drinks were also good. Check out the pics I uploaded. Small place but great food. Sat outside.

This place does not disappoint. Great atmosphere, delicious food. I love when I go there an they have live music! Local ingredients and a great wine selection. We just ate their last night and my husband was blown away by the gorgonzola filet mignon. I went with the salmon on top of cranberry asparagus risotto which was equally delicious. Although a little pricier, we love coming here and enjoy it every time -- definitely worth the 30 minute drive from Burlington!

Visiting family in Vermont from out of town and we always plan what restaurants we will visit in advance. The Blue Paddle Bistro was suggested and based on the reviews (word of mouth recommendations as well) and the menu, we decided to give it a shot. The initial impression was good - the building and location are great, the front porch area is a comfortable place to wait for your table...the only problem was that we had a 7pm reservation and we weren't seated until sometime around 7:30. After that, it was literally one disappointment after another. We were seated upstairs and it was the slightest bit cramped for a table of 6. It took somewhere around 30-40 minutes to get apps - a cup of soup, duck spring rolls and a salad. The waiter barely checked on us to see if we needed anything during that time. Entrees probably took about an hour to come to the table after appetizers were cleared - most in our group ordered specials. Two people got surf and turf - which ended up being lackluster with overcooked, rubbery lobster and steaks which failed to impress. One main ingredient of that entree was Hollandaise sauce, which after about 15 minutes of placing our orders - we were told by the waiter that the kitchen was out of Hollandaise. This was disappointing and the entrees probably wouldn't have been ordered had we known they were out. One person in our party requested a substitution of cheese in the risotto (parmesan instead of asiago) - the waiter didn't check with the kitchen and just said it was not possible. One person got a gorgonzola encrusted filet - which showed up 10 minutes after the rest of the meals...leaving everyone to sit uncomfortably waiting to eat until the waiter realized one diner was missing a meal. When it did arrive, there was no gorgonzola cheese - which told us the kitchen had forgotten the meal for our table and scrambled. After pointing it out, the waiter didn't offer to correct the mistake. The person who had asked about the risotto had asked for vegetables as a substitute - to go with the salmon. There were literally 3 pieces of asparagus served with it in place of the risotto. There was also a ribeye - which was low quality, overcooked and extremely tough. These issues couldn't really be resolved, since the waiter never checked on us after the food was delivered. The crab filled ravioli was very tasty - but came with 3 raviolis which were very thin and light on the filling, and a crab cake. A small amount of food for the price tag. Should have been advertised on the menu as a crab cake with some ravioli on the side rather than the other way around. Overall, the pricing on the food was very high - implying this is a fine dining restaurant - however the experience did not meet this expectation. The only issue which seemed to make it back to Mandy, the owner, was the missing gorgonzola on the steak. Prior to receiving our bill, she came by to speak to us and give us a gift certificate for the next time (will there be one?). The gift certificate was made out to "Mark and Family" which was not us. We raised all of the issues above to her directly. She seemed defensive about the whole thing. She could only say that she had won awards for her steaks and apologize for our disappointing night. We weren't trying to get free food - just wanted to make her aware as the owner of an extremely disappointing experience. She asked for us all to leave our addresses and she would send us something (which I found very odd and unprofessional). We were sitting right there in front of her, that is the time to correct issues, not mailing things to people or having people come back and gamble on another meal that costs a few hundred dollars! Also - people from out of state will likely not be back. At the end of the night, we split our bill 3 ways. The waiter brought back the checks and it became evident to us that he had overcharged us by $10. Rather than wait several more minutes for him to correct it, we made adjustments to the gratuity. When we did let him know of the error, he stood there in awkward silence for about a minute....mumbled the word "math" and walked away. ????? Overall there is potential here. But the wait staff needs a lot of training to be waiting on tables in this establishment and there needs to be a better QC check on the meals going out of the kitchen to make sure the orders are complete and correct. It is tough to walk out having spent close to $300 on a disappointing meal and consider actually coming back.

This is the only real restaurant in South Hero, and thankfully, it's excellent. The restaurant itself is situated in a beautifully restored farmhouse. It has lots of nooks and crannies for a more private experience if that's what you are looking for. The food is always great. It's all locally sourced ingredients with a lot of attention to detail, and it shows. Every dish I have had the opportunity to try has been delicious and well-prepared. This place holds it's own against many of the better restaurants in Burlington. The service is always top notch and the owner is a very sweet lady. She gave us gift tokens for coming on a slow night as a thank you. If you are looking for a great spot in the islands this is the best choice.

We just had our first meal here tonight, and, to put it mildly we were both absolutely gobsmacked. The entire experience was nothing short of perfection. We reserved a table at 7pm on Saturday. We arrived right on time, parked, and were surprised to see how busy it was. There were throngs of folks enjoying the evening on the porch and all around the exterior of the restaurant. Super ambiance. We entered the front door and were greeted almost immediately. We were both hungry after a busy day doing yard work so we were thrilled to be told that our table was ready right away! We were taken through the restaurant to the back of the house to a cute little table in the corner. Absolutely beautiful little spot and I highly recommend it. We later learned this is table "B1". We'll be asking for it again. To start we shared a large Caesar salad, and it was everything you want from a Caesar - Crisp fresh hearts of romaine, tangy freshly-made dressing, crispy croutons and just the right amount of shaved Parmesan (and by that I mean lots of it!). Our waitress also brought us a nice house bread basket and some Cabot butter. For main course I had the veggie burrito and french fries, and my wife had the soy-glazed salmon with ginger & cranberry risotto and asparagus. Both were remarkable. I snuck a few bites of my wife's risotto and salmon, and I have to say I was blown away. Never tasted a risotto like it - the flavor was truly exceptional. The salmon perfectly cooked and just melted in your mouth. The veggie burrito was top notch too, and without doubt the best value I've ever had for just $11. Incredibly perfect french fries. Huge portion too... I could only eat half of it. We never get dessert, but we just had to try one here. We got the chocolate lava cake a la mode. I am not a dessert person, but let me tell you, words can not describe the decadence of this delectable dish. We can't wait to return and enjoy more yumminess from the menu. I really don't remember having a more delicious and perfectly prepared meal. It's hard to describe this little place... we both felt like we had our own personal chef cooking for us. Even though the place was crazy busy, everything was served quickly, piping hot and perfectly presented. Our server was always available but never overbearing. I honestly don't know how they do it. My new favorite restaurant. By quite a long way.

Did not feel welcomed at such an intimate and local dining spot. 4 staff people walked by me without even a hello I'll be right with you. Had no idea who Mandy is, never came by to say hello how was your meal. Very "island" attitude. Good food, service was marginal. Snobby atmosphere for a local spot in Vermont. Maybe try again but if greeted the same way again will be the last time. Could be rumors are true that they don't pay the staff on time that would be reason for crappy service

We really enjoyed our dinner here. I highly recommend reservations, as during the summer it's a madhouse. Very busy! Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was quick and friendly. Sometimes a salad can tell you everything you need to know about a restaurant, and my Caesar salad was fresh, nice to look at, and the dressing was obviously homemade. The rest of my group got burgers, and although my companion did not intend to finish her burger, she wound up inhaling it. It was irresistible.

This place is just INCREDIBLE. We went last night with my brother and SIL. Firstly, their special appetizer of duck spring rolls was amazing. I had that and their special potato leek soup as my meal. I ordered a bowl of soup rather than the cup and brought home half for my lunch today. It was also delicious. I have never had a bad meal here and 4 years ago we had our son and DIL's rehearsal dinner here. We live 3 miles away from here and we often say, "Where should we go for dinner?" This always is the place we go to for a special meal. I think this competes with most restaurants in Burlington VT and for us it is a lot closer. Friendly, good food and a gem on the Islands.

Went here this fall with my fiancée and her family. Have to say, it's expensive and could be worth visiting if the kitchen did it's job. My coffee crusted pork tenderloin was not good - dry, minuscule portion, served with a healthy attitude from the waitress. The fries were great, however. Would recommend them. Seems like the type of place that can handle a decent burger and fries. Interior was cute - enjoyed the homey feel.

Have been a few times and every time I leave there saying it's some of the best food I've ever eaten. Casual dining but suitable for more formal occasions, a bit of something for everyone. Love the filet mignon!

We made a reservation for 8 adults and 5 children, a challenge for any restaurant. They arranged a private room for us, with a large, square table, and seats for the small children. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure all our needs we're seen to. The food was really good and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the Blue Paddle if you are in the area.

The staff were extremely pleasant, and service was friendly and prompt. The dinner menu has some out-of-the-ordinary choices, and the food is excellent and creatively presented. The crab-stuffed ravioli with crabcake and the lobster pasta were superb, as was the Caprese salad. A Ceasar salad was only so-so, though. We sat upstairs; it would have been quieter there, but the air conditioner beside our table was rather noisy. However, we were able to turn it off after a while. The chairs upstairs were not very comfortable. The Blue Paddle is maybe a little pricey, but not unreasonable, given the quality of the food. I would absolutely go back again.

We went to the Blue Paddle Bistro on Saturday, August 10th for dinner. This place is as good as it gets. Pros: Delicious food, excellent service, great atmosphere. Cons: None We called for reservations and I spoke to the manager Mandy, who I have to say is one of the nicest people I have ever met. We have never been treated so well at a restaurant. She was so welcoming that I felt like I was a celebrity or a famous food critic. We were even introduced to the chef, Phoebe, and given a tour of the restaurant. You can tell that the owners love what they do and are committed to making their customers happy. As good as the service was, the food was even better. Best risotto I have ever eaten, no contest. The sea bass, lobster-stuffed ravioli, and grilled rib-eye were all excellent. On another note, it may sound strange to mention, but the Blue Paddle had one of the nicest restaurant bathrooms I have ever been in (you will know what I mean when you go here). Tip: Buy one of the candles they sell. They smell amazing. We will definitely be going back to the Blue Paddle in the future. I highly recommend this restaurant. When you go tell them that Luke and Erin sent you.

Great restaurant week dinner! Lamb Lollipops prepared rare, just as I had requested, and huge and tender Fillet Mignon, also perfectly prepared with a sauce that truly complemented the rich flavor without overpowering. Scrumptious! And my friends raved about the crab cakes, the shrimp, mussels (basil, yes!!!), and the sea bass too. Great wine list - short, but elegant, and with much-lower-than-average restaurant markup, thus making for good value. The place was totally jammed, but the owner and the service somehow made this into a big positive - we felt like we were looked after well, as it appears did all of our neighbors. Just the right lively-but-not-uncomfortable feeling for a Friday night. Wow! We will definitely be back!

Another wonderful meal at Blue Paddle Bistro! It can be hard to get in last minute, but we always find it worth our while. Mandy is the consummate front of house person, that is for sure...she always makes us feel welcome and she routinely checks in at tables to see how things are going and if you have an issue, believe me, she will work to make it right. We often comment that she should teach a front of house class!! Phoebe's food is always good....we do wish the menu varied a bit more...but we always enjoy our meals. Just had the pumpkin whoopie pie last night and it was great, along with one of our favorites, the Paddle Burger...though it is hard to resist the gorgonzola encrusted filet...sigh. We do so enjoy the Blue Paddle Bistro!!

After a great meal, while finishing our drinks, my party was asked to leave to accommodate another reservation. Tacky. Not at all what I expect from "fine dining". I will not be back--I can get a meal of the same caliber without the rudeness closer to home.

Charming restaurant in a quaint little town. I'm a native Californian and was in town for my cousin's graduation from UVM, so I was looking forward to sampling the local flavors and cuisine. We kicked things off with peking duck spring rolls, paddle nachos and crab cakes. The spring rolls and crab cakes were awesome, the nachos were meh, I've had better. Best thing about both the spring rolls and crab cakes was that there was actually a lot of the protein in both and not just filler veggies or bread. Since we were a fairly large group we ended up ordering quite a few of the entrees from the menu, but the rock star was definitely the lobster ravioli. Not only were the raviolis amaze-balls but there were chunks of lobster meat dolloped over the dish. I didn't order it myself and I'm still kicking myself. On the other hand, my cousin ordered the seafood ravioli and the portion was so small it looked like it could have been on the kid's menu. Not worth the dough. Overall the food was good, but not great. Service was decent and staff was friendly and warm. The only downside was we were seated upstairs on a warm summer night and it was hot as Hades with no circulation. BPB should really invest in a ceiling fan because it was like being in a dry sauna...not a good look for most of us. Other than that, BPB was a nice little place and this Cali girl gives it a thumbs up!

We had a wonderful meal at Blue Paddle. I had the coffee crusted pork tenderloin. My meal was amazing in every way. My dinner companion had the rib eye. It was an excellent cut, though slightly lacking in seasoning and a tad under cooked given the medium rare request. We enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the atmosphere. We would have been even happier had the waitress brought us the water we requested.

Had a reservation for 6 on a Saturday night. good thing we had reservations as the place was about full. However, the staff is the best I have seen. Extremely friendly and efficient. My filet was perfect and my wifes rissoto was even better. The wine list is short but has everything one would want.

I've been to Blue Paddle twice now and both times have been extremely pleased with the food and service. Some people have complained that they're over-attentive. Yes, the staff is very attentive, but I don't see this as a bad thing. As for the food, tonight my wife and I started with a bowl of Clam Chowder. It was one of the best bowls that I've had in VT with a good amount of potato and a nice creamy broth. For the entree, I ordered one of the specials - Oven-Roasted Honey Mustard-Glazed "Airline" Chicken Breast with a dried cranberry, ginger & green onion risotto. The meal was very well cooked and one of the best meals that I've had in a long time. The chicken was moist and perfectly cooked. My wife ordered the Gorgonzola Filet which was also cooked well. It's amazing how many restaurants have trouble cooking a steak to Medium-well (I'm looking at you Whip). I definitely recommend this place and it is one of the places that we love to go to for a special night out. It is a bit of a drive (about 25 mins) from Burlington, but well worth it.

Consistently good with a menu that changes regularly. Friendly and charming environment. Best food in the area. Not cheap (for the area), but a place to take out of town guests or for a friend's birthday or a date or a warm, friendly night to enjoy a happy, friendly local scene with great food.

Went full of anticipation, had heard great reviews. Got the lamb chops special and the scallops - both plates came nearly cold, small portions. The food came out very quickly after we ordered, maybe the plates were prepared earlier and were sitting around? Even warm, the food was a bit better than average, but not what I expected given the price. Won't go back.

I was very surprised to find this restaurant in South Hero. Excellent food and very good service. Fresh food cooked with seasonal veggies. I have been to many NYC & Boston good restaurants and this was in the same category. Probably the best restaurant in this part of Vermont. 5 for the great food and the hospitality. The decor was cute, but the setting was little cramped.

We really want to love this restaurant. Perfect distance from Burlington; great atmosphere; fantastic menu items; owner chef & hostess. Unfortunately we've been 3 times & the last 2 have been a comical disappointment. On our 2nd trip the burger was raw- even after sending it back. Our waiter was completely inexperienced/overwhelmed. We hated to complain, but when the owner checked on us, it was hard to disguise our disatisifaction with our dinner not eaten. She offered us complimentary desert & a gift certificate towards next visit. We finally went back a year later to use the gift certificate for Sunday brunch. Again the menu looked great, but the portions were tiny! 6 diced potatoes in the home fry order looked really lonely on the plate. The pile of dirty glasses on the bar made us wonder if they were from the night before. Our food came out really fast (way before our drinks) - but when the owner said she'd bring condiments, she forgot to return ( so we stole them from the next table), until it was time for the bill. Then she saw my unfinished bloody Mary & started making excuses for how spicy they were... before I could even say anything. This restaurant IS worth a try because it's so unique... It just won't be a regular spot.

Go here for one of the best burgers in Vermont. Also, the blue cheese-crusted filet is a standout. It's such a comfortable place to have a delicious dinner... Nothing is pretentious, everything is delicious. The owners and staff are the best.

We had a 5p reservation, which is when they open. Arriving at 4:45p, we were the 2nd car in the lot. While we had a reservation, outdoor seating is first come first serve. They have 4 bar seats facing Route 2 on their porch. In the back, they have 2 picnic tables on their back deck. However, if you have a dog, then your seating is further back, past the tall hedges... Almost like going to a secret oasis. There are 3 picnic tables to choose from, as well as some Adirondack chairs to relax in. There is even a dog pool for dogs to cool down. Much better ambiance than their back deck. Shane took care of us. He was pleasant and friendly. Now the food... Our friends had the spicy duck spring rolls. They seem quite happy with them! We had a Caprese Salad, Butternut Squash-Stuffed Ravioli, and Gorgonzola Crusted Filet Mignon. The ravioli was good, but not very filling. The filet was placed on top of the mashed potatoes, which were flavorful, but just slightly too dark for this dish, since there isn't much of a sauce. The caramelized onions with the Gorgonzola cheese was a nice balance of flavors with the filet. We're not in the area often, I would definitely come here again. Very quaint restaurant. Wish I took a picture of the grassy outdoor dining area, it was really a nice environment for dining.

Went here for a birthday dinner after walking along the water in South Hero. The restaurant is a converted house with a large porch and chairs to sit outside. We ate upstairs in a 'bedroom' with some others celebrating as well. They give free bread (so rare these days) which was a pleasant surprise! For dinner I had the coffee crusted pork loin with goat cheese mashed potatoes (yum!) and asparagus. The serving size was substantial and I cleaned my plate (something I never do). Even my dining partner drank the liquid from his lobster sauté like soup to get every little bit. The wine glasses are comically large, we had a good laugh!

It's hard not to love this place. When they have brunch it's so good and so much fun. For a unique Vermont experience in a beautiful setting it's a must.

Very worth the drive to South Hero. The seating is rather cosy as it is a converted home. The service is friendly, Mandy one of the owners often comes the table to see how things are. The food is top notch. There can be a wait sometimes but it is worth it. Love it.

I was tooling around Lake Champlain and the Champlain Islands when I realized that I was getting hungry. Checked Yelp and found this wonderfule bistro. The reviews were so good, I had to try it. I got there at 5:00' when they open and people were already pulling up and standing in line. Although I did not have a reservation, they fit me in at the bar since I was by myself. The restaurant quickly filled up. After looking over the menu, I chose the glazed salmon on cranberry risotto. And yes, it was one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Served on a bed of wilted spinach and asparagus spears, the portion size was a perfect size and the risotto was creamy goodness. Definitely stop by here if you ever get the chance. I'd love to try their other dishes!
